Several streets in Balti repaired from sources of National Regional Development Fund

Chisinau, Dec. 22 /MOLDPRES/- In Bălți, the repair works of some streets were completed, which were carried out as part of an urban revitalization project, financed from the sources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL) and implemented by the Regional Development Agency (ADR) North. Yesterday, a reception committee evaluated the works and assessed as compliant.

"Within six months, Drumuri-Bălți company asphalted a segment with a length of 534 m of Petru Zadnipru street and repaired 677 m of intra-village access roads in the perimeter of Cahul street. The value of the works within this sub-project is 4.87 million lei (about 250 thousand euros), from the sources of the FNDRL. Balti city hall's contribution is 10% of the allocated amount", ADR Nord said.

As part of the same urban revitalization project, works are being carried out in Bălți to rehabilitate, modernize and increase the level of energy efficiency of Gymnasium No6. The value of the contract concluded for this purpose is 17.7 million lei, and the works are to be completed in 2023.

This year, from the sources of FNDRL, ADR Nord is implementing three urban revitalization projects in the north of the country. One of these is the Modernization of public infrastructure and educational institutions in the revitalization area of Bălți project, submitted by the Bălți city hall as part of the call for the selection of regional development projects for 2021-2023. According to the Northern Regional Operational Program for the years 2022-2024, such projects aim to strengthen the role and functions of cities in increasing the competitiveness of the region.
