Owners of lands affected by construction of Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi water main to receive compensations for losses

Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru) and the Designing Institute for Territory’s Organization on 28 December signed a contract which provides for the fulfillment of a string of works on the transmission in state’s ownership/use of real estate which represent the object of expropriation. They are needed for the carrying out of the works of construction of the water main, Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi, within the Improvement of the Water Infrastructure in Central Moldova Project.
The present contract envisages, inter alia, the carrying out of the cadastral works concerning the identification of the private property assets, delimitation of the public property, correcting the errors committed at the assigning of public property lands, formation of real estate, elaboration of projects’ on territory’s organization, if needed, working out of pedological studies and compilation of files on the change of the category of purpose of lands, if necessary, as well as the assessment of compensations of losses and reporting on the needs of intervention in the cadastral sector for the carrying out of the works of construction of the water main Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi.
„Thus, in the next six months, the aforementioned institute will carry out the activities stipulated in the contract, in accordance with the action plan for expropriation and compensation. It is about a string of actions concerning the attenuation of the negative effects of the expropriation process, covering all direct economic and social losses coming from the occupation of the real estate and restricting the access, along with subsequent compensatory measures and remedying measures, in line with the requirements of the Environmental and Social Standards of the World Bank,’’ ADR Centru said.
The Improvement of Water Infrastructure in Central Moldova is a regional project financed by the German federal government through KfW Bank and is co-financed from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. Its implementation by ADR Centru- an institution subordinated to the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry - started in 2018 through the working out of a feasibility study. Presently, the project is in the phase of elaboration of the technical documentation of the works which see the construction, in the first phase, of the Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi water main. It will ensure the transportation of drinking water to the Straseni and Calarasi towns on a length of 53 km, with the infrastructure related.
