Chisinau, 6 January /MOLDPRES/ - Hundreds of people have come to bring good literature and collections of books of fairy tales, history books, belles letters, memoirs, topic-related atlases or encyclopedias during three days, within a campaign titled, Library under Fir Tree, launched by the government. Pupils of lyceums from the Moldovan capital and its suburbs, as well as more employees of ministries and agencies subordinated to the cabinet joined the campaign, being convinced of the fact that the reading has an important role in the education of young people and helps them develop the thinking and imagination, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Accompanied by her son, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita brought more book titles for children and teenagers.

„I completed the number of books collected within the campaign with a set of literature which marked the first years of life of my child – tales with events of the most beloved heroes, as well as books which I regarded as useful for children. I am happy that a large number of children will have access to books which comprise diverse fields: fairy tales, aviation, robotics, encyclopedias, novels for teenagers, volumes of poetry of native authors, as well as prose signed by the best known authors of the universal literature. I am proud that such an initiative managed to bring so many people together. On this occasion, I offer thanks to all children and adults who joined the campaign,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.

The literary works collected within the campaign will reach shelves of several schools libraries from more settlements of Moldova, as well as at a children’s hospital.
