Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - Another gallery of agriculture ministers, who had worked in the sector on the periods 1918-1944 and 1940-1991, was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA). On this occasion, the MAIA leadership has recently had a meeting with the former competent ministers, Evghenii Calenic and Victor Reabcici, who worked during 1986-1990.

Although the former officials have not been worked in the field for a long time, they said that they were not indifferent towards the situation emerged in the agriculture. They assessed the production potential of the agro-industrial complex from the period when they were in office, the policies promoted by the authorities at that time, as well as the problems they were facing, the Agriculture Ministry said.

„Such a meeting is beneficial for us, as we learn from the first source how the sector was managed, how the decision-makers managed to achieve high indexes for more crops for that period, how Moldova managed to have a well-developed irrigation system and animal husbandry sector. Obviously, the past cannot be changed, but the future is in our hands; therefore, we have what to compare and learn,’’ Agriculture Minister Vladimir Bolea said.

The official noted that the experience of the predecessors can be analyzed and taken over where it fit the present realities and can contribute to the improvement of the situation in the field.

The first Gallery of agriculture ministers was inaugurated in the context of the professional day of the agriculture and processing industry employee, annually marked on the last Sunday of November.
