Presidential administration's expenses for external visits amounted to over 514 thousand lei last year

Chisinau, 10 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Today, the presidency published a report on business trips abroad by President Maia Sandu and members of the delegations in 2022.

According to the presidential press service, the expenses of the presidential administration for foreign visits made last year amounted to over 514 thousand lei (about 25 thousand euros), which represents less than half of the amount of over 1 million lei, allocated from the budget of the Presidency for 2022. For this year, 700 thousand lei were allocated for visits abroad.

Last year, Maia Sandu had 19 trips abroad. The official gave speeches in the plenary of the European Parliament and at the United Nations General Assembly, and participated with speeches in several international meetings, conferences and public events. Also, Maia Sandu made several bilateral visits, at the invitation of her counterparts and other high-ranking officials from the host countries.

For business trips abroad, the Administration of the President of the Republic of Moldova spent in 2021 over 534 thousand lei out of 1.4 million lei allocated, in 2020 - about 632 thousand lei out of 1 million lei (former administration ) and in 2019 – about 1.8 million lei out of 2.1 million lei.
