Cahul municipality to have Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - The southern Cahul municipality in 2023 will have a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUD), which will include the assessment of the situation in the public and private transport sector, routes, stops, passengers’, pedestrians’ mobility, ecological transport, traffic security, circuits for cyclists, car parks and other ecological solutions, etc.

Experts will analyze the situation; will come up with solutions of easing the traffic and other fields, possible scenarios, projects/plans. ‘’The document’s elaboration is to be a participatory process, through which the Cahul residents are to come up with proposals and during 2023, PMUD should be approved by the municipal council,’’ according to the Cahul city hall.

The carrying out of this document takes place within the project titled, Sustainability, mobility and accessibility in the cross border region Cahul-Oancea – a better transport infrastructure. The project is implemented and co-financed by the Cahul city hall, in partnership with the Oancea commune’s mayoralty, within the Moldova-Romania Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020
