Deadline for presenting financial reports of political parties changed

Chisinau, 11 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Political parties will be obliged to present to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) semi-annual financial reports by 15 July and 15 January respectively, and annual ones by 31 March.

According to the CEC, the political formations receiving allocations from the state budget will submit financial reports to the Court of Accounts. At the same time, they must be presented within 10 days of the approval, by the party's competent body, of the decision regarding the reorganization or self-dissolution of the formation. Documents will be sent in electronic format.

Also, the political party receiving allocations from the state budget will present by the 10th of each month information on the formation's expenses from these allocations for the previous month and information on the number of employees and employed persons remunerated from the allocations.

The new provisions are applicable from 1 January. Thus, the political parties will not present a separate report for the second semester of the previous year, by January 15, 2023. The political parties will present only the annual report for the financial management year 2022 until 31 March.
