Moldovan PM visits gymnasium from Falesti district's village

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - A donation of books, tablets and laptops today was made during a visit to the Gymnasium from the Izvoare village, northern Falesti district, by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The donation of technology was possible due to the Education Ministry, and those several hundreds of books, which will reach shelves of the library from the education institution, were collected within the Campaign, Library under the Fir Tree, launched by the government.     

„You should know that I saw a great interest on behalf of public and private institutions, citizens, state officials to contribute to this campaign, so that we cultivate together the young generation’s love for books,’’ the PM noted.   

The prime minister discussed with teachers and employees of the mayoralty the needs and impediments faced by the gymnasium’s employees. One of the problems mentioned is the deficit of financial resources felt by the institutions which work in regime of financial and economic self-management. In the context, Natalia Gavrilita said that the government would continue the measures of reformation and consolidation of the education system at all levels.  

„You know that this year we increased by 1,300 lei the salaries of all public sector employees, including teachers. We identified resources and mobilized foreign partners, in order to provide this increase also to the self-financed institutions. We launched a comprehensive reform in the higher education sector and we will continue to come up with reforms in this field, so that the pupils and students from Moldova choose to study here, at home,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.   

The gymnasium’s headmaster, Nadejda Rotari, thanked the government members for the contribution provided, noting that a better endowment of the institution would contribute to the improvement of the education process’ quality.   

PM Natalia Gavrilita stressed that the school institutions would be able to access financial resources at the next round of the European Village Programme, which will allow their better endowment and modernization.   

Eighteen teachers work and 127 children study at the gymnasium from the Izvoare village, Falesti district.
