Moldovan president, top European bank's president discuss continuation of pro-business programmes in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso, at the end of the first day of the World Economic Forum in Davos.  

According to the presidential press service, the sides discussed the programmes financed by EBRD and carried out in Moldova at present, including the programmes on investments in infrastructure and on support for strengthening the energy independence, as well as programmes on development of small- and medium-sized enterprises.   . 

The head of state voiced hope that EBRD would continue the pro-business programmes in Moldova in the new country strategy for Moldova for the 2023-2028 years, as they represent an important step for improving the citizens’ well-being: ‘’We must help as many as possible small and medium-sized entrepreneurs create new jobs, if we want the people from Moldova to live better in their country,’’ President Maia Sandu stressed.        

President Maia Sandu on 17-19 January participates in the 53rd meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. At the event, the head of state has scheduled meetings with world leaders and high-ranking officials from more countries, as well as representatives of the business environment.
