Forty education scholarships to be annually provided by Moldova, Ukraine, under agreement

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Ukraine will annually provide 40 scholarships for various cycles of education, under an agreement on cooperation in the higher education sector, signed between the two states. The document was approved at a today’s cabinet meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The agreement sees the annual providing, on reciprocity basis, of 25 scholarships for degree and master education, 10 scholarships for doctoral education and five scholarships for the making of scientific probations and for the teaching staff.

The agreement’s goal is to develop the bilateral cooperation relations between Moldova and Ukraine in the higher education field and create opportunities of training and qualification of highly qualified specialists in various sectors of the economy.

The agreement is also aimed at encouraging both states’ collaboration on joint projects within programmes of the European Union, Council of Europe, United Nations Organization, UNESCO and other international organizations.

The agreement between Moldova and the cabinet of ministers of Ukraine on cooperation in the higher education sector was signed during a visit to Kiev by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita on 6 December 2022.
