Chisinau, 20 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- About two thousand Ukrainian refugees from Gagauzia will get aid of 2400 lei (117 euros) for procuring items needed for the winter season. The initiative is part of a set of support activities developed by Caritas Czech Republic for Ukrainian refugees.

Caritas Czech Republic has started the distribution of aid for refugees sheltered in Comrat, Ceadâr-Lunga, Vulcănești, Cahul and Basarabeasca regions. Thanks to European Union funding, Ukrainian refugees will be able to get the winter clothes and shoes they need.

"We will provide this aid for about two thousand refugees. This form of support will allow Ukrainians in refuge to procure a wide range of seasonal items, starting with gloves and scarves and ending with jackets and footwear suitable for the cold season", humanitarian project coordinator Cristina Rogojina said.

The activities are part of the Emergency aid to vulnerable Ukrainian refugees from Moldova project, implemented by Caritas Czech Republic with the support of the European Union.
