Speed of movement, permissive tonnage limited on bridge nearby Dubasari city of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - The speed of movement of transport units and the permissive tonnage have been limited on the bridge nearby the Dubasari city because of the worn out infrastructure. A decision to this effect was approved at a today’s consultative meeting of experts from both banks of Dniester, held at the Chisinau-based OSCE Mission’s headquarters.  

According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, the participants in the meeting discussed the subject on the proper management of the highway bridge, positioned on the express road M1, Border with Romania – Leuseni – Chisinau – Dubasari – Border with Ukraine, km 129+810, which crosses the Dniester river nearby the Dubasari city.   

Experts in the roads’ infrastructure sector presented the situation on the state of the bridge, the degree of wear of columns, erosion of metallic elements, seismic resistance, as well as other elements concerning the conditions of its exploitation. At the same time, specialists stressed that the critical state of the bridge’s damaging imposed, in the long run, its repair and presently, experts recommend imposing of a speed limit, of the permissive tonnage and preserving the distance between transport means.   

The bridge nearby the Dubasari city was made available for use in 1965 and rehabilitated in 1997.
