About 1.4 million households had energy compensation in November 2022

Chisinau, 23 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- In November 2022, about 1.4 million households in the Republic of Moldova benefited from energy compensation, most of them being classified as very vulnerable (66.24%).

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, 16.25% of families benefited from compensation through the indirect method. The average amount of compensation per family in November was 630.18 lei for natural gas, 562.53 lei for thermal energy and 97.62 lei for electricity.

People can register on the www.compensatii.gov.md platform until March inclusively. Compensation for these consumers will be granted starting from the following month after the month in which they registered.

According to the calculations, about 5 billion lei (around 250 million euros) will be needed to pay the compensations during the cold period (November 2022 - December 2023).
