Chisinau, 27 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The government works daily to reduce the impact of crises on people, increase people's living standards and modernize villages and towns, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said at a meeting with citizens of Nisporeni district, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The increase in gas and electricity tariffs required an unprecedented mobilization of the Cabinet of Ministers to find compensation money, the budget for supporting the population supplemented by up to 5 billion lei. But the actions in this direction do not stop here, Natalia Gavrilița said.

"Each time we have acted in such a way as to be with the people and come out of these crises stronger. With the help of our EU partners, we managed to diversify the sources of gas purchase, to ensure the energy security of the country. There are things that have not been done in the more than 30 years of independence. We will continue to negotiate the implementation of mechanisms for the procurement of energy resources and to increase, up to 30%, the share of renewable energy", Gavrilița said.

In Nisporeni, as part of the government program European Village, 16 infrastructure projects worth 62 million lei were completed in 2022. Investments were also made from other government funds or with the support of development partners. It is about the renovation of the road network, the water and sewage systems in some localities, but also initiatives related to the use of the tourist potential.

Nisporeni residents spoke about the way in which the reforms are felt. Some of them requested additional allocations in the sports and education, modernization of intercity transport etc.

The official thanked the Nisporeni residents for contribution to the management of the refugee crisis and supporting the Ukrainian citizens left homeless. “We are now known to the world as the country that managed five times more refugees than was possible given our modest capacities. We showed maturity in crisis management - we all worked as a team and achieved beautiful results. I am sure that we will succeed not only in managing the crises, but also in investing in the necessary changes, so that our descendants can live in a free and democratic country", Gavrilița said.
