Moldovan deputy premier for reintegration on working visit to Georgia

Chisinau, 31 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, on a working visit to Tbilisi, had a meeting yesterday with Tea Akhvlediani, Georgia's State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Zurab Azarashvili, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and Tibor Kozma, head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia, the Reintegration Policy Office has reported.
The discussions with the officials from Tbilisi focused on bilateral cooperation relations, the agenda of reforms implemented by the authorities of Chisinau and Tbilisi. They reviewed Moldova's joint efforts to settle the Transnistrian conflict peacefully and other issues of mutual interest.
Special attention was paid to the regional security context and the management of current risks and vulnerabilities, especially related to the war in Ukraine and the support measures granted to Ukrainian refugees, as well as the need to continue the inter-institutional dialogue on issues related to the peaceful and sustainable settlement of conflicts on the territories of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia.
Chisinau also showed interest in managing the problem of internally displaced persons from the occupied/uncontrolled territories of Georgia, accommodation practices, social policies/support programs applied by the Government.
The sides agreed to continue the active interaction, by carrying out the exchange of good practices in the policies for the reintegration of ungoverned territories and the identification of ways of mutual support in this regard.
Serebrian's visit to Tbilisi takes place at the invitation of Tea Akhvlediani and is held on 30-31 January. The Chisinau delegation also includes State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ruslan Bolbocean and Deputy Head of the Reintegration Policy Office Eugen Cara.
