Chisinau, Feb. 1 /MOLDPRES/- The head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, Veronica Dragalin, announced today in a press conference the priorities of the institution for 2023, saying that the elimination of corruption from the system is at the forefront. She urged the citizens and the persons involved in the justice to denounce acts of corruption.
Dragalin reviewed several cases of corruption involving lawyers and prosecutors and called on the Lawyers' Union to check the activity of the defenders who were accused of corruption. She urged citizens to help eradicate corruption from the system and denounce all attempted crimes.
Dragalin noted that corrupt people in the justice system are the most dangerous and urged society to actively participate in combating this phenomenon. "If we have corrupt prosecutors, judges, we will never be able to fight the problems of corruption. They put at risk the most important files in which criminals who have stolen for years are targeted," she said.
She said that although there are already convictions for corruption of some lawyers, prosecutors and employees of the CNA in some files, such as the resonance ones, there are still delays.
