Chisinau, 6 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita in Brussels has met Secretary General of the European Commission Ilze Juhansone. The officials discussed the implementation of those nine conditions for starting the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Moldovan PM gave assurances that the government’s Action Plan for this year would take into account the analytical report published by the European Commission on 2 February. ‘’We are determined to show significant and irreversible progress on each of those nine recommendations,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
The sides discussed ways of operationalizing all fields of bilateral cooperation, the progress made in the fight against corruption and misinformation, in the de-oligarchization of the country, as well as the measures of policies for overcoming the economic crisis and reducing the inflation.
Natalia Gavrilita voiced hope that, starting from the next multiannual financial cycle, Moldova, along with Ukraine, would be transferred from financial instruments meant for the countries from EU’s neighbourhood to pre-accession funds. The prime minister also thanked the European official for the support provided to Moldova.
On 4-8 February, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita is on a working visit to Brussels, where she will participate in the seventh meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council.
