General Assembly of Judges to be held in Moldova on 17 March

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) today ruled that the General Assembly of Judges would take place on 17 March.

Under a decision by CSM, the meeting will take place at 10:00 and the subject on the election of new CSM members from among judges will be included on the Assembly’s agenda.

Also today, CSM approved the applications on resignation of over 20 magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice and Court of Appeal.

Twenty eight judges have earlier registered at the contest for the office of CSM member and only five of them passed the evaluation of the pre-vetting commission. Those five candidates who passed the evaluation are magistrates of courts of first instance.
