More people to benefit from assistance on cold period of year in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - More citizens will benefit from assistance for the cold period of the year. The parliament adopted a draft law on the change of the conditions for establishing and providing the social benefit and the assistance for the cold period of the year.    

Under the document, the draft’s goal is to enhance the multiplier for the monthly minimally guaranteed income, used when establishing the right to assistance for the cold period of the year. Thus, more citizens will be able to enjoy this social benefit.

At the same time, the draft implies the extension of the term of taking the decision on giving the right to social benefit and assistance for the cold period of the year by 20 working days – up to 40 days. Thus, the social assistance system’s bodies will have more time available to process all applications submitted by applicants.   

For this year, about 220,000 beneficiaries of assistance for the cold period of the year were monthly estimated. About 770 million lei (38.5 million euros) was approved on this purpose.
