Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The first platform of distance learning meant for agricultural sector operators from Moldova has been launched by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA), in partnership with the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project in Moldova of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
The platform, https://elearning.ansa.gov.md has the goal to facilitate the access of rural sector entrepreneurs to knowledge, giving them possibility to take distance specialized courses, envisaged by the national legislation and get certificates which confirm the new knowledge. The subject of the first course of distance learning is the Sustainable use of phyto-sanitary products, meant for agricultural producers, importers and distributors of such products.
”The digital platform represents an efficient partnership between the private sector and a public institution, backed by USAID. The ensuring of high standards and the food safety for the farming products is a compulsory criterion, given that Moldova aspires to increase its exports and for the Moldovan products to be competitive on all markets,’’ the director of the USAID mission in Moldova, Scott Hocklander, said.
For his part, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea said the goal of the digital platform, as accessible instrument of learning for agricultural sector operators, was to provide consumers with qualitative and safe products. At the same time, according to the official, the launch of the new platform of distance learning fits the ministry’s objectives and is part of the efforts of harmonizing the processes from the agricultural sector with the European Union’s standards.
According to ANSA, in the next three months, at least 3,000 people will take the online course and will have possibility to comply with the legal provisions, as well as to save time and financial resources for movement. At the moment, over 373 people have registered on the digital platform, some of whom have already got the certificate valid for 36 months, which confirms the knowledge acquired.
