Nicolae Testemițanu USMF organizes support campaign for victims in Turkey

Chisinau, February 17 /MOLDPRES/- Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Moldova is organizing a support campaign for the victims in Turkey.

Thus, employees will be able to voluntarily donate their average salary for a working day to provide material support to the victims. Also, a bank account for donations was opened, to which employees, students, doctoral students, resident doctors, and others who wish will be able to make transfers in Moldovan lei. The action is organized as a sign of solidarity, at the proposal of the Board of Directors of USMF Nicolae Testemițanu.

The material aid collected during the campaign will be sent, by bank transfer, to the Turkish Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, representatives of the University administration went to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in our country yesterday and donated material goods, including blankets, pillows, socks and non-perishable food products. Their value is 50 thousand lei.

Rector Emil Ceban sent, on behalf of the university community, a message of condolences and compassion to the Turkish people in relation to the natural disaster that took the lives of tens of thousands of people and injured several million citizens physically and morally, causing a lot of pain and damage.

Recently, the Ministry of Finance also opened an account to collect funds as donation to support the Turkish people. The decision was taken in connection with the disaster caused by the earthquakes that shook Turkey on February 6 and caused more than 40 thousand victims.
