Moldova to benefit from package of non-lethal assistance on behalf of NATO

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from a package of non-lethal assistance on behalf of the North Atlantic Alliance, in order to strengthen the country’s defence capacities. A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the defence ministers of the NATO member states, held in Brussels.
Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii stressed that the assistance implied consultancy for the personal military protection and for emergency situations of different characters.
The official noted that the assistance would be focused on: development of the defence and security capacities, modernization of the armed forces, consolidation of the integrity, enhancing the resilience of the national institutions to the new threats, professional development of experts, combating the hybrid threats, cyber defence, promotion of the strategic communication and public diplomacy.
„To achieve this goal, a lot of team work has been carried out; therefore, I would like to thank all those involved in the management of the process of negotiation and other actions which preceded the adoption of a welcome decision for the entire defence and security sector of Moldova,’’ Anatolie Nosatii wrote on a social network.
