Chisinau, February 18 /MOLDPRES/- The teams of Moldovan rescuers who participated in the humanitarian mission in Turkey arrived in the country today.

According to the Border Police, they entered the country through the Giurgiulesti - Galați border crossing point.

At the same time, the Government approved yesterday the allocation of financial means, necessary for the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) in order to cover the expenses related to the travel of rescuers to Turkey. The amount of 1.4 million lei (70 thousand euros) will be offered from the government's reserve fund.

During the implementation of the international mission, IGSU employees managed to save a three-year-old boy from under the ruins of an apartment block, where he was for more than four days. The Moldovan specialists, being in mixed groups with rescuers from Hungary, Mexico, the Netherlands and Turkey, carried out evaluation works of buildings and recovery of bodies.

The team of Moldovan rescuers started the international mission on February 6, to provide aid to the Turkish people who suffered from devastating earthquakes. This consisted of 55 rescuers, 12 fully autonomous emergency vehicles and two search dogs.
