Moldovan parliament speaker invites business people to invest in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu invites business people to invest in Moldova. ‘’You have in Moldova the same confidence you had in Romania or Poland,’’ the parliament speaker said in the opening of the Economic Forum in Chisinau – Investments/Development/European Integration, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

Igor Grosu gave assurances that the business environment enjoyed every openness of the Parliament, Presidency and Government. According to the speaker, over 1,500 Romanian investors presently work in Moldova and this figure can be doubled. ‘’I am happy to see business people from Poland, another confidential partner of ours and a true ally of Moldova. We speak about 2 strong economic engines not only at the regional, but also at the European level. These are two quite important countries for our region and from which we hope to take over the best practices and experiences of economic development and of European integration,’’ Igor Grosu stressed.    

The parliament speaker also said the authorities worked day by day, to speed up the reforms needed both by foreign investors and local companies, as well as in order to establish an intense dialogue with those who create jobs – business people and investors. One of the goals announced by the parliament speaker is to make the business activity easier and more profitable and any attempt of state’s employees to harass the business will be toughly ceased. ‘’The business must be respected and backed, not harassed or ignored. Therefore, we will do the cleaning also at more institutions where the public office is abused by irresponsible or corrupt people. Moldova needs a mobilized, strong and competent administrative system,’’ Igor Grosu said in his message.  

In his speech, the parliament speaker reviewed the achievements recorded in the last year to help the business environment. It is about the carrying out of the process of digitalization of services for entrepreneurs, initiating regulatory changes, in order to reduce the bureaucratic barriers and diminish the administrative burden, easier access to financing, reform of universities, initiation of the ‘’Ltd companies’ reform’’ and other measures to give more freedom to entrepreneurs to edify their business just as they think it is better. ‘’We are determined to remove the bureaucracy and obstacles to the business environment. In 2023, we will continue with a string of reforms – we will simplify the fiscal system, we will make courageous reforms on the labour market. I expect you in Chisinau with investments in IT, constructions and infrastructure, in projects on renewable energy, trade, education, culture, tourism and not only!’’ the parliament speaker said.      

The Economic Forum in Chisinau – Investments/Development/European Integration, is held on 22-23 February. The event is organized under the auspices of the Royal Family of Romania and with the support of Romania’s Embassy in Moldova. The forum is dedicated to the development of the country’s economy and attraction of new investments and brings together representatives of the governments of Moldova and Romania, the Moldovan parliament and other institutions, such as the business environment from Moldova, investors, etc.
