Chisinau, February 24 /MOLDPRES/- Fuel prices are down for the fourth week in a row. In this interval, standard diesel registered a decrease of 3.12 lei per liter, and the price of COR 95 petrol was reduced by about 1 lei per liter. The data were presented today by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).

The agency explained that "despite the pessimistic expectations regarding the effect of the EU embargo, imposed since February 5 on the procurement of fuels produced from Russian crude oil, the current month was marked by reducing Platts quotations for petroleum products".

For the next three days, ANRE has set a maximum price for COR 95 petrol of 24.72 lei, down by 0.03 lei. At the same time, diesel fuel will be sold at a maximum of 22.11 lei per liter.

ANRE continues to follow developments at the international oil exchanges and assures consumers that the current pricing mechanism is extremely transparent and ensures maximum fairness both during periods of increase in quotations and when they decrease.
