Sanctions for undisciplined drivers to be toughened in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - Drivers who infringe the traffic regulations will be sanctioned tougher. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect today.  

One of the provisions of the document is the suspension of the right to drive transport means for a certain period, if drivers exceed the speed limit by over 60 km/hour. At the same time, drivers who to not give priority to pedestrians who cross the street according to rules will be sanctioned tougher.    

At the same time, decision-makers will sanction contraventionally also the owners of transport means who refuse or evade informing about the identity of the person to whom the vehicle’s driving was entrusted and who infringed the traffic regulations.

The draft law was worked out by the Interior Ministry and voted in the second reading by 54 MPs.
