Moldovan National Army's servicemen returned from Lebanon receive distinctions

Chisinau, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - The first National Army officers and sergeants have returned home from the peacekeeping operation in Lebanon - United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They received distinctions on behalf of the Defence Ministry’s leadership.
Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii congratulated the servicemen.
„The experience you have gained on this period is important and useful for the National Army’s contingent, detached to UNIFIL last month, as well as for those who are to leave for Lebanon. You were the first team of military to leave for this peacekeeping mission, which is a new one for our country and the National Army. You represented with honour Moldova and the National Army on this scene of operations and your performance was appreciated by the foreign partners,’’ the minister said.
Those four servicemen were awarded with the Medal, For Humanitarian and Peacekeeping Missions, of the National Army, for the professionalism proved in the UNIFIL mission.
In last February, the National Army detached a contingent of 32 professional military to UNIFIL. About 10,500 servicemen from 45 states participate in this mission.
