Director of IMF's European Department to visit Chisinau

Chisinau, 7 March /MOLDPRES/ - Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Alfred Kammer will pay a visit to Chisinau on 8-10 March 2023.

The official will have meetings with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the ministers in charge of the management of the economy and the energy sector and Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armasu. The meetings will be held, ‘’in order to discuss the challenges faced by Moldova, as well as to express appreciation for the robust partnership between IMF and Moldova.’’

Alfred Kammer has been director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund since August 2020. In this capacity, he manages the IMF’s work in Europe. Kammer was previously the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Managing Director, advising the Managing Director on strategic and operational issues and overseeing operations for the senior management team. Kammer also served as resident representative of the IMF in Russia.
