Almost half of Nisporeni-Ungheni main aqueduct built

Chisinau, March 13. /MOLDPRES/- The main aqueduct that will provide quality drinking water to the homes of the residents of 13 villages in Nisporeni and Ungheni districts is 40 percent built, the Center Regional Development Agency (ADR) announced today.

ADR Centru, the Nisporeni District Council and the executing company signed in September 2022 the joint venture contract under the project to improve the quality of life of the rural population through the construction of the aqueduct interconnecting the Prut River - Macărești village, which will provide drinking water to 13 localities in Nisporeni and Ungheni.

This development project is planned for implementation within 35 months and provides for the construction of the main aqueduct with a length of 29.8 km, with connection to the "Măcărești" crossing point of the Prut River to 13 localities. Also, within the project, there are planned construction works of internal networks in the towns of Brătuleni and Isăicani on a length of 24.3 km, as well as the construction of four pumping stations, ten castles and six water tanks.

The 13 localities provided for in the project are: Măcărești, Frasinești, Costuleni from Ungheni district and Boldurești, Chilișoaia, Băcșeni, Brătuleni, Cârnești, Valea Trestieni, Isăicani, Luminița, Selișteni, Odobești from Nisporeni district.

The total value of the project, according to the contract, is 60 million lei (three million euros), of which about 90% of the expenses will be covered by the National Regional and Local Development Fund (FNDRL), and the rest of the amount will represent the contribution the applicant. For 2023, from the FNDRL, financial means of over nine million lei were allocated for the continuation of the works within the project.
