More physicians of Moldova benefit from training with support of World Health Organization

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - Seventeen surgeons, traumatologists, anaesthesiologists and therapists have benefited from training in the traumatology sector, within the course titled, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), organized by the Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Moldova.     

According to the Health Ministry, the training course contributes to the strengthening of the knowledge and abilities of physicians specialized in the treatment of traumatisms, so that they can work in interdisciplinary teams, set up for intervening quickly and saving patients’ lives.    

ATLS is a training programme on the management of cases of serious traumatisms, worked out by the American College of Surgeons. The course in Chisinau is organized by the WHO Office in Moldova, in partnership with the Society for Applied Simulation in Medicine from Moldova, Medical Simulation Training Centre of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and with the financial support of the European Union.  

On the period December 2022 – March 2023, 66 physicians participated in training sessions.
