Moldovan parliament standing bureau approves agenda of plenary meetings for 16-30 March

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s standing bureau, at a today’s meeting, approved the agenda of the plenary meetings due to be held on 16-30 March.   

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, on this period, the MPs will consider, in the second reading, amendments to more normative acts, among which the Law on additional social protection of several categories of residents, the Law on the judicial organization and the Law on the Prosecutor’s Office. Also in the second reading, the lawmakers will examine a legislative initiative aimed at stimulating the electronic trade and a draft law suggesting the introduction of the syntagm ‘’Romanian language’’ in the normative acts.        

The MPs are also to consider, in the first reading, the draft laws on the Supreme Court of Justice and on the external evaluation of the judges and the candidates for the office of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice. The standing bureau includes also on the agenda the draft laws on the probations paid in the public sector and on the subsidization in agriculture and the rural environment. Also in the first reading, the lawmakers will discuss the draft law on the cyber security and the package of laws on the Intelligence and Security Service of Moldova.  

At the same time, the MPs will ratify a string of agreements and amendments to agreements, among which the Council of Europe Convention on Cinematographic Co-Production, the Agreement with the European Union on Moldova’s association with the EU4Health Programme, Emergency Covid-19 Response Project – Additional Financing.    

The parliament is also to appoint a member of the Court of Accounts and an adviser for the settlement of claims of the National Agency for Settlement of Claims. The agenda includes also a draft decision on the setting up of the special commission for the selection of candidates for the office of Ombudsman for the rights of the child.   

On 16 March, the plenary meeting will start at 11:00.
