Chisinau, March 17. /MOLDPRES/- Young people, aged between 18 and 29, will benefit from paid internship programs in the public sector. Parliament approved a draft law today.

The document provides for the introduction into national legislation of the mechanism for organizing and running the internship program in the public sector for young people from 18 to 29 years old, in order to facilitate their transition from the education system to the labor market.

The internship programs will take place within the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the Presidency, the State Chancellery, the ministries and their subordinate authorities. The selection of interns will be based on a competition. Upon completion of the internship program, the young people, at the proposal of the public authority within which they carried out their internship, will be able to be employed in a public executive position, without the organization of a competition.

The internship program will run for six consecutive months, during which the interns will benefit from a stipend worth 3000 lei for 160 hours per month and will be awarded proportionally to the actual internship time.
