Chisinau, March 27. /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection launched today RESTART social assistance system reform. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu made the statement.

The official announced the main actions to be carried out. "This reform represents a decisive step in respecting the commitments made towards the citizens. We want an effective system in the fight against poverty. At the same time, through the reform, the social system will be prepared for the accession to the European Union. Thus, we aim to obtain a better financing of social services by fully allocating money from the state budget. It is a priority to expand the minimum package of social services, both the number of services included and the number of beneficiaries", said Alexei Buzu.

For his part, the head of the Social Protection, Health and Family Parliamentary Commission, Dan Perciun, said that nine Territorial Social Assistance Agencies are to be created, subordinated to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection with a presence in each district - based on the directions of assistance existing social. "The salary degrees of a social worker with higher education will be increased up to the level of a teacher, and of a social worker without education up to the level of an educator. At the same time, three degrees of professional qualification will be created according to the model of the educational system and an informational system dedicated to social services will be created", he said.

The reform is to be carried out in the next three years, but the main measures will be carried out for half a year. A legislative package in this sense is to be voted on in the current parliamentary session.
