Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets German official

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan diplomacy head, Nicu Popescu, in Berlin has had a meeting Germany’s Minister of State for Europe and Climate Anna Luehrmann. The officials discussed the process of accession to EU and the progress made by the Moldovan authorities to fulfill the European Commission’s recommendations and transpose the EU acquis into the national legislation, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

„In this respect, I thanked Mrs. Luehrmann for Germany’s firm support and reiterated our country’s determination to continue implementing the reforms, in order to bring Moldova in the European Union.

We also referred to the situation in the region, stressing that Moldova consolidates its resilience and manages to counteract the attempts of destabilization, including due to the support provided by Germany,’’ the Moldovan official said.

For her part, Minister of State for Europe and Climate Anna Luehrmann reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to further provide support in the implementation of the reforms’ agenda and in the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.

On 27-29 March, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu pays a working visit to Berlin.
