Chisinau, March 30 /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law on the amendment of Article 2 of Law No121/2001 on additional social protection of certain categories of the population were published today in the Official Journal.
Thus, starting from 1 April the benefits to participants in the war on the Dniester, in combat actions in Afghanistan and in combat actions on the territories of other states will increase. Persons with disabilities and surviving spouses from the World War II, combat actions to defend the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova and the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident will also benefit from increased allowances.
At the same time, the monthly allowances will increase for the children of people with disabilities who died as a result of the war, the children of deceased participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. The allowance is provided for children until they reach the age of 18 or after this age, if they continue their studies in educational institutions.
Increased benefits will also be offered to one of the parents of participants in peacetime combat actions or combat actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova who fell or died during the fulfillment of military service obligations in the ranks of the Soviet Army or National Army or the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at Chernobyl, deceased.
Persons decorated with orders and medals for hard work and impeccable military service behind the front during the World War II will also benefit from the increase.
For each category, the increase will be 250 lei. Thus, depending on the category of beneficiaries, the minimum amount will increase up to 800–1,800 lei.
The provisions of this law are implemented from April 1.
