Moldova's National Statistics Bureau says residents' revenues increase by 21 per cent in 2023

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The revenues available for one person amounted to 4,252.7 lei (212 euros) in 2022, which is by 21.2 per cent more against the year before. In real terms, the population’s revenues registered a diminution of 5.9 per cent, with the adjusting of the annual average index of the consumer prices. The figures today were unveiled by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS), based on the research of the budgets of the households.   

According to the quoted source, the salaries represent the most important source of income of the residents, with a share of 50.7 per cent of all revenues, practically at the level of the year before.  

Also, the social benefits represent, in continuation, an important weight in the available monthly average revenues, which stood at 20.3 per cent or by 1.8 percentage points more against 2021.  

The money transfers from abroad remain a significant source for the budget of households. One average, in 2022, they accounted for 12.1 per cent of all revenues or by 0.4 percentage points less against 2021.   

Depending on the residence environment, it is ascertained that the incomes of the residents from the urban environment amounted, on average, to 1,826.9 lei, which is 1.5-fold more against the revenues of the population from the rural environment.
