Situation in Security Zone on agenda of Joint Control Commission

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The issue of the illegal posts in the Security Zone was in the focus of the discussions at a today’s weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

Moldova’s delegation reaffirmed its position on the need to remove any posts placed in the Security Zone without the acceptance of the Joint Control Commission.

As reaction to the information on alleged terrorist acts, spread by Tiraspol representatives, including through mass media, Moldova’s Delegation pointed to the mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation, infringed by the Transnistrian power-wielding forces.

Through a statement submitted to the Joint Control Commission, Moldova’s Delegation highlighted that the non-informing and non-involvement of military observers and constitutional law-enforcement bodies doubts the conclusions of the Transnistrian region’s representatives. Or the presumed deeds, if they occurred, should have been signaled at the moment when they took place, in order to launch the mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation, so as not to allow the destabilization of the situation in the Security Zone and carry out an objective inquiry.

Moldova’s Delegation disapproved of the resorting to the manipulating procedures, demanded the giving up of the provocative actions and the observance of the basic acts of the peacekeeping operation at Dniester.
