Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service of Moldova and the Romanian Customs Authority have established a joint mechanism of cooperation on the period of the Easter Holidays. The heads of the two customs administrations signed a joint plant which comprises a string of actions meant to optimize the crossing through the border checkpoints, if an enhanced flow of transport means is recorded at the entrance or exit from Moldova.

Thus, on the period 7 April – 7 May, both authorities will synchronize their activities, through making an operative change of information, including with the territorial subdivisions of the other authorities with duties of border control, will allocate separate lanes for redirecting and speeding up the traffic of passengers, both at the entrance and exit from Moldova and where needed, will supplement the number of customs employees from the border customs bureaus/posts.

At the same time, to prevent and avoid blockages which might appear for technical reasons, measures will be undertaken to ensure the work of all control equipment from the customs posts/bureaus.

As for people set to cross the border, the Customs Service has established a Single Call Centre (+373 22 78 8888), where they can ask for information on the rules of crossing goods and transport means across the customs border and can signal eventual corrupt deeds or abuses committed by customs employees.

At the same time, the column, Online traffic in customs border points, can be accessed on the page of the Customs Service. Thus, the participants in the cross-border traffic can plan their optimum route, as they have possibility to visualize in real time the number of transport means at the crossing points with the highest traffic values.
