EPC Summit: IGP presented maps with alternative travel routes

Chisinau, May 12. /MOLDPRES/- The General Inspectorate of Police (IGP) presented several maps with alternative travel routes during the general simulation exercise for the European Political Community (EPC) Summit. It will take place on May 14, between 09:00 and 14:00.
According to the IGP, for a period of five hours, road traffic on the main arteries in the Centru and Botanica sectors of Chisinau, as well as in the neighboring areas of the capital, will be limited during the movement of the official columns involved in the general simulation.
Thus, in order to be able to circulate in different sectors of the city, citizens are recommended to move through the Buiucani sector, which will be used as a transit sector to bypass the section of streets on which the movement of official delegations will be organized.
There will be some traffic limitations on Bulboaca - Chisinau routes and vice versa.
Citizens who have planned flights on May 14, between 09:00 and 14:00, are recommended to determine their travel route to Chisinau International Airport in advance, to inform about the adjustment of the public transport schedule. At the same time, citizens are urged to have their identity documents, in order to be identified if necessary.
Tactical exercises within the general simulation can influence the public transport schedule, generating some congestion in the road traffic in the center of Chisinau and the surrounding areas. Also, the police call on drivers to show understanding towards possible traffic difficulties, to be careful at pedestrian crossings and to respect the requirements of the patrol agents who will supervise road traffic, both in order to direct the flow of traffic participants, the redirection of the movement of transport, as well as the non-admission of the creation of traffic jams.
The EPC summit will take place on June 1, in the town of Bulboaca, Anenii Noi district. The event will bring together around 50 European heads of state and government and European Union officials.
