Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - The paternal leave will be able to be fragmented. On the eve of the Family Day, the MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Dan Perciun and Marina Morozova, have announced new legislative measures of support for the families with children.

One of the initiative’s provisions will provide more flexibility in the way the paternal leave is used. Thus, the father will have right to use the paternal leave in a fragmented way, of which a part will be of at least 5 calendar days during 12 months after the child’s birth.

At the same time, the parents who enter another maternity leave immediately or shortly after the childcare leave, will have more options of establishing the allowance for the maternity leave and the allowance for bringing up the child.

The draft law also contains measures of support for the families which adopt children: thus, the partially paid leave for the adoptive parents will last from 60 to 90 days; the fully paid leave for the adoptive parents for a period of 90 days starting the adoption day, no matter the age of the child. Also, the paternal leave will be paid in the first 12 months starting the day of adoption for a period of 15 days.

Decision-makers will partially pay also the leave of up to 6 months for taking care of the adopted child, who is older than three years on the adoption day.
