Moldovan cabinet in dialogue with citizens in European Town, inaugurated on Great National Assembly Square

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - The events dedicated to the marking of Europe Day-2023 on 13 May continued with the inauguration of the European Town in the centre of the Moldovan capital. Attending the opening festivity were Prime Minister Dorin Recean, along with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, Head of the European Union Delegation in Moldova Jānis Mažeiks and all ambassadors of the European Union member states accredited in Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

„In the European Town, I saw the diversity and the beauty of the European unity – a project which unites the people from the entire Europe for peace, for modernization of the communities and for prosperity. I met resolute people, who want a European, prosperous and strong Moldova. We are Europeans and we edify Europe at home together,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.  

Over 150 representatives of the public institutions discussed with citizens, informed about the programmes carried out for the benefit of the people, opportunities of backing the entrepreneurs, young people, farmers, as well as ways of accessing programmes in the fields of education, culture, science, energy, finance, environment.  

The orchestra and the horse racing unit of the Interior Ministry (MAI) presented to visitors a special schedule, which continued with diverse artistic actions and the interior affairs subdivisions carried out actions of informing and unveiling European programmes implemented in Moldova.    

The 2023 edition of the Europe Day is marked in more regions of Moldova, where diverse cultural activities and events are organized. They are carried out by projects financed by European Union, in cooperation with the local public authorities, the network of Euro-clubs and European information centres from all over the country.

At the European Town, Moldova‘s government was represented by 30 institutions: ministries, including the agencies subordinated to them: Civil Aviation Authority,  Railway of Moldova, State Administration of Roads, National Office of Regional and Local Development, National Motor Transport Agency, National Army, National Food Safety Agency, Diaspora Relations Bureau, Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, Moldsilva Forestry Agency, State Hydrometeorological Service, Moldova’s Waters Agency, National Agency for Research and Development, Antidoping National Agency, State Inspectorate for the Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumers’ Protection, State Agency for Intellectual Protection, National Statistics Bureau, Customs Service, State Fiscal Service, Medicine and Medical Devices Agency, Agency for Energy Efficiency, National Social Insurances House.
