EPC Summit: Foreigners refused entry to Moldova to be placed at temporary accommodation center

Chisinau, May 15 /MOLDPRES/- On 31 May -2 June people who will be refused entry to the country will be placed at a temporary accommodation center set up at the Center for Temporary Placement of Foreigners. A decision in this regard was taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations.

According to the Media Group for Security News on European Political Community Summit, the measure will be applied in the context of the closure of the national airspace during the 1 June Summit, when the activity of air operators within the Chisinau International Airport will be suspended, and the immediate departure of the point border crossing will not be possible. Thus, foreigners who were not allowed, for various reasons, to enter the Republic of Moldova will be transferred to the temporary accommodation center.

The transportation of people to the center will be ensured by the General Inspectorate of Border Police. The expenses for food and medical assistance, borne by the Center will be provided by the General Inspectorate for Migration, except for people prohibited from entering our country. The accommodation expenses for these people will be borne by the air operator that provided transport.

At the same time, the term of accommodation in the center will not exceed 72 hours.

To ensure aeronautical safety and security, all civil aircraft flights will be prohibited in the entire airspace of the Republic of Moldova for 1 June at 00:00 (local time) until 2 June at 07:00 (local time), except for official aircraft.
