Government program "373" consulted with businessmen, bank representatives

Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- The key aspects of the new Government Program for supporting entrepreneurs "373", as well as the proposals for its improvement were discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and representatives of entrepreneurs' associations, members of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister and representatives of commercial banks from our country. The meetings were organized within the public consultation process, which will end on May 24, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Recean emphasized the importance of ensuring entrepreneurs' access to resources and support from the state, noting that the 373 Program, which will be available from June 1, aims to strengthen cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, banks and other interested parties and generate, as a result, the economic growth of our country.

"Economic development is the immediate priority of the Executive. We aim to stimulate investment, increase labor productivity and the number of well-paid jobs. The 373 program is that financial instrument that will help us achieve the set objectives and thus increase the standard of living of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova", he said.

At the meeting with the businessmen, the concept of the Program and its basic elements were presented. Thus, the interest rate on loans in foreign currency is 3%, and in lei - 7%. For loans with a maturity of up to 7 years, the maximum grace period is 3 years. The program provides for the subsidization of credits of up to 15 million lei or the equivalent in foreign currency, and in the next period, the Government proposes to increase the credit limit up to 30 million lei, as well as to offer a credit guarantee for companies that do not have enough pledge.

Eligible fields include agriculture, manufacturing, waste management, information and communications, education, health and social care. Each investment project will be evaluated based on the degree of innovation, economic potential, sustainability and green impact.

The entrepreneurs emphasized that they are encouraged in their activity by the policies and programs launched by the Government, noting that the 373 Program is an initiative that concretely responds to the needs of business people. In order to continue the active dialogue with the authorities, the participants proposed the relaunch of the consultative platform of small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, the need to develop the infrastructure of consultants for entrepreneurs was discussed, as well as the possibility of including the field of construction in the program.

At the meeting with the representatives of the banks in our country, the official said "our entrepreneurs: farmers, those in the food industry, in communications, IT and in the field of tourism need financing to be able to develop. The competitiveness and productivity of our economy depends on increasing the performance and efficiency of the technologies used, including for accessing financial-banking instruments capable of generating new lines of economic development, for the business environment to prosper".
