European University City inaugurated at USM

Chisinau, May 18. /MOLDPRES/- On Europe Day, Moldova State University /USM/ inaugurated the European University City yesterday.

The event brought together members of the university community, USM faculties, USM scientific institutes, representatives of the diplomatic staff accredited to Chisinau, other guests. Among the special guests who visited the European University City were Ambassador of Italy Lorenzo Tomassoni, Ambassador of France Graham Paul and Ambassador of Slovakia Pavol Ivan.

The event was opened by a youth flashmob. USM rector Igor Sharov said that Europe means prosperity, democracy, peace, freedom, investments in science, educational projects, academic mobility for our students and teachers.


Ambassador of France to Chisinau Graham Paul urged the young students to believe in the European path of our country and to contribute to building a European future. "The EU represents peace, solidarity between partners, which makes us stronger. We need your ideas, energy and skills, of young people, to build an even better Europe!", concluded the French official.

In this context,  Ambassador of Italy to Moldova Lorenzo Tomassoni also emphasized the importance of the involvement of young people in the process of the European path of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, Pavol Ivan, Ambassador of Slovakia to Chisinau shared his country's experience in the integration process, but also that of full membership, wishing our people success in this process.

The officials visited the stands of the USM faculties and institutes, where they were presented with the study programs, development projects and the university's internal and external achievements.
