European Parliament supports irreversible European path of Moldova

Chisinau, May 21. /MOLDPRES/- The European agenda of the Republic of Moldova and the implementation of pro-European reforms were discussed today by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Speaker Igor Grosu with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola during the meeting hosted at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Recean welcomed the European official's decision to join the European Moldova Assembly and to convey the European Parliament's plenary support for the alignment of our country with the EU bloc as soon as possible.
"We are living a historic moment today, and we thank you for choosing to be a part of it. We are grateful to the European institutions for supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening security, developing infrastructure, consolidating our energy independence and improving living conditions in the Republic of Moldova. Our citizens deserve a European future and a better life," said Recean.
For his part, the President of the European Parliament reconfirmed the solidarity of the states and the European institutions in the European path that our country has embarked on, emphasizing that the Republic of Moldova's place is in the European Union, appreciating the perseverance of the Chisinau authorities to generate quick and concrete results in regarding the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission and alignment with European standards.
