Customs Service collected over 626 million lei last week

Chisinau, May 29. /MOLDPRES/- On May 22- 28, the Customs Service collected over 626.9 million lei (about 31.3 million euros) to the state budget.

During this period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 18.4 million lei were collected, which represents 2.9% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

At the same time, 11,761 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 71,640 crossings.

In the fight against fraud, 53 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 238 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 13.3 billion lei to the state budget, up by 9.9% compared to the same period last year.
