Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - The state has provided agricultural producers with subsidies worth 600 million lei (30 million euros) since the beginning of this year. The deputy director of the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), Diana Cosalic, today made statements to this effect at a news conference held along with Agriculture Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea.

The AIPA deputy director noted that the subsidies had been provided for the development of the post-harvesting and processing infrastructure, purchasing agricultural technology and equipment. At the same time, the farmers asked for state’s support to reimburse the interest rate on the loans borrowed, modernize the multiannual plantations and revitalize the animal husbandry sector.

Vladimir Bolea informed that a concept of complex reorganization of AIPA had been launched, which regards the doubling of the number of employees, setting up of new subdivisions and optimizing the control activities. At the same time, the salaries of the AIPA employees will be increased.

The AIPA deputy director noted that all these actions would allow optimizing AIPA’s work, including the transparent verification, with minimal risks of fraud and corruption of the files proposed by farmers and shortening the period of their consideration. At the same time, the institution is set to launch a service which would allow submitting online the applications asking for subsidies.

The size of the National Fund of Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment is of 1.5 billion lei for 2023.
