ANRE to review gas tariffs in fast-track procedure

Chisinau, May 31. /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) will be able to review natural gas tariffs in an accelerated procedure. The decision was taken today by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE). Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov made the statement after the meeting of the Commission.

"Today we met at CSE to discuss topics related to the gas market. It took our intervention to bring elements of equity to the gas market. I approved that ANRE, in an accelerated procedure, in a fast regime, could revise the tariffs, not take as much time as the classic procedure. We hope that ANRE will intervene soon and consumers will benefit from other tariffs", said Victor Parlicov.

"We worked hard so that in the next few days or weeks we can reduce the gas tariffs", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean at the beginning of the Government meeting.

Currently, household consumers pay a rate of 29.26 lei for a cubic meter of gas. During the cold period of the year, the authorities offered compensation for the payment of natural gas and electricity bills.

In early May, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the authorities are working to make it possible to reduce natural gas tariffs in a few months at the most, so that "we enter the new season with lower tariffs".
