Day of 1 June might be declared day off in Moldova

16:05 | 31.05.2023 Category: Social

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The 1 June day might be included in the list of days off, provided for in the Labour Code. The government today gave a positive notification to a draft law on the amendment and completion of the Labour Code, filed by a group of lawmakers as legislative initiative.

Due to this adjusting, parents will be able to pay increased attention to their children and spend time with them on 1 June, when the Children’s Day is marked.

The amendment is reasoned also by the fact that the Children’s Day is included in the list of traditional holidays and days off envisaged in the parliament’s decision on the commemorative days, holidays and days off in Moldova.

Presently, there are 12 official holidays in Moldova, declared as days off for employees. This is less than in other European states, where at least 13 holidays are regarded as days off.
