European Commission President says Moldova heart of Europe

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is in the heart of Europe and on 1 June, the entire Europe will be in Moldova. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has made statements to this effect at a news conference held jointly with President Maia Sandu.

The European official appreciated the effort made by the Moldovan authorities in the implementation of those nine conditions put by the European Commission and informed about a new package of assistance for the country.

„It is clear that you have recorded a significant progress. We are quite pleased to see that you have advanced in this direction and for this reason, we ruled to significantly increase the number of employees in the European Union’s delegation in Chisinau. This will help you consolidate the administrative capacity. And I want to thank you for hosting all of us here in Chisinau. The presence of those 50 European leaders is a very strong message. Moldova is in the heart of Europe and on 1 June, the entire Europe will be in Moldova,’’ the EU official stressed.
